Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where you develop your skills as a leader while having fun and making.
Each year Rotary Caroline Springs sponsors at least one candidate to attend the RYLA camp.

Dear Rotarians,
We were glad to have Priya Somabhatta, alumna of RYLA 2023, join us as a guest speaker at our recent Rotary Caroline Springs meeting. Priya, fondly known as the "Psychology lady" among her friends, shared her journey and insights gained from her experience with RYLA, along with her passion for music and culinary delights.
In her engaging presentation, Priya expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Rotary Caroline Springs for their support and highlighted the transformative impact RYLA had on her life. She spoke eloquently about her journey through the RYLA Leadership Program, emphasizing the significance of stepping out of her comfort zone and embracing diversity in opinions.
Priya outlined the four pillars of RYLA that resonated deeply with her: Challenge by Choice, Community, Diversity, and Time Out. She reflected on the profound changes she underwent since participating in RYLA, noting how clarity of vision and alignment with core values have empowered her to pursue her aspirations with confidence.
A poignant moment of her presentation was captured in her final quote: "You cannot hate someone when you know their story." This message underscored the importance of empathy and understanding in fostering harmonious relationships and effective leadership.
