Well Spring has certainly settled in and all the flowers are blooming and the bees are buzzing. The year 2022 is fast approaching to a close with only 3 more months to go. We have had a somewhat busy month in September. Starting off with David Curnow speaking on the “The Psychology of Embezzlement”. The week after that we had a successful and fun filled joint meetings with Rotary Club of Hopper Crossing and APEX at WERN. Our raffle raised $160, and we have jointly agreed to bump that up to $500 to donate to the Olivia Newton John Foundation. The members from Hoppers Crossing gave us a good overview of the projects that they have run over time to raise funds and support the communities here and overseas. Our members too spoke of the projects that we have had and our future plans. Amanda from APEX gave us a good insight into what her club actively involved in, such as Wynspeak, doing and that they will be doing the Christmas Tree sales again this year.

We had our internal technology night for our members on the 24 Sept. Mostly for everyone to know about what we can do in ClubRunner and using MyRotary to manage our club and find out more about Rotary and what it stands for. What our new brand centre looks like and how to access all the learning that Rotary has to offer. I also spoke about GrowMyClub and the resources that are in there not just for Presidents but for all members and how it is linked to MyRotary. Rotary does provide a lot of learning for all members to develop our skills further. Not just about improving your membership experience witin a Rotary Club but also through personal development. Good reasons to join us and volunteer to make a difference. Unfortunately, the picnic that we were supposed to have had to be postponed to the 9 Oct. Details will be on our Facebook page.

This coming Wednesday 28 Sept, Matthew Proctor will speak on Winds of Hope and about the projects that he has been managing. The meeting will begin at 7pm and cast via zoom and face to face at WERN.  In October we will have our cluster Technology Night on the 19 Oct 2022 via zoom. Looking to volunteer, then why not Volunteer with our DG on 8 Oct 2022 at Western Emergency Relief Network (WERN). Come and see what Rotary and WERN are all about. On the 22 Oct BusyFeet will have their Concert in Melton.

A lot is also happening within our Cluster clubs in Oct and Nov too. On 11 Oct Melton Rotary will celebrate their 50th Anniversary, Wow! They are also doing a 52 truck Hay Run to NSW, activities at the Melton Botanical Garden and celebrate the Summer of Glory Days at TABCORP park on 5 Nov. Check out Melton Rotary website for more information. Bacchus Marsh Rotary will have a Car rally this weekend, and a Flower and Garden show, followed by a Car Show at Manningly Park. They will even have a Halloween Party at the end of Oct and in Nov a Strawberry and Cherry Festival. Some of our members will join Bacchus Marsh Rotary and other clubs volunteering at Philip Island MOTO Gp for 4 days. Find out more on the Bacchus Marsh Rotary Website.  Melton Valley has had another very successful BBQ at the Royal Melbourne showgrounds last weekend. They will also join with Melton Rotary for another night at Harness Racing on the 5 Nov. Looking for delicious Christmas Cakes then go no further as Melton Valley will once again be selling the famous Rotary Foundation Christmas Fruit Cakes and traditional steamed baked puddings. Believe me they are delicious. Check out how to order on the Melton Valley Rotary Website and for details of the activities that are coming up.

We congratulate Wendy Gadsby for completing her 21 Km marathon and improving her time in doing so. Well done Wendy! We also gave a Certificate of Appreciation to Kathy Hall for all the work that she has done for the club in the last few years as President. Due to her ongoing passion and the efforts of all members our Club received a 2021-2022 Rotary Citation for helping Rotary Serve to change lives of people all over the world from the previous Rotary International President Shekhar Metha. But it was not just our Club, all clubs within our cluster received the Citation. Well done everyone! Imagine what we can do next.

Check out the flyers in this bulletin for more info on activities that you can join us in.

Have wonderful month ahead everyone!
