At our last meeting we welcomed Rotarian (Rtn) Alban Rebello from the Rotary Club of Ambattur. Rtn Alban Rebello was the Past President from 1997 to 1998
Alban is visiting his daughter for several months and as a Past President of the Rotary Club of Ambattur was happy to catch up with a local Rotary Club in Caroline Springs. We were fortunate that he was able to join our meeting to also welcome our newest member Hid Khan. It made the ceremony that more special for Hid becoming a Rotarian.
The Rotary Club of Ambattur (RCA) Chartered on Twenty Eighth August 1980 - the sixth club in the city of Chennai, was sponsored by R C Madras West and is the first of the second generation clubs. With 53 active members in the club, it is known for successful running of 4 major community projects which include Ambattur Rotary Hospital, Ayappakam After School Learning Centre, TV Nagar School and SCAW.
Projects that the Rotary Club of Ambattur (RCA) started and are still ongoing are the Ambattur Rotary Hospital is ceaselessly providing quality health care to hundreds of people every year in and around Ambattur in 8 various departments with its root laid in the year 1990.
TV Nagar School is an RCA managed school with classes from 1 to 10 for children of the underprivileged, particularly of the factory and construction labour living in and around Ambattur.
The Ayapakkam Neumaymer ASLC concentrates to bridge the gap between school and after-school learning. ASLC also imparts vocational skill training to Students to build skill and confidence in the Students.
Sleeping Children around the world, Started in the year 1970, The Rotary Club of Ambattur has join hands with SCAW to envision the world by ensuring every children gets the gift of a good night's sleep.
