On the 6 June Rotary Caroline Springs Members attended the Wynspeak final at Thomas Carr College.

6 June was the WynSpeak Final at Thomas Carr College. In its 20th anniversary of WynSpeak that was started by Des O’Shanassy as a pilot between two schools. What a great program in public speaking.

This year 142 students from 46 schools from the the western suburbs competed over 8 heats. Eighteen students spoke with eloquence, style, passion and vigour on a range of topics from misogyny, manners, gift of a second chance to the concept of how it would be if kids ran the country and the power and fear of AI.
Well done to all the finalists. Huge congratulations to Gracy Singh from Good News Lutheran College (winner in the Seniors), Alexis Wiley Lakeview Senior College (runner-up Senior), Ekamjeet Singh Alamanda K9 College (winner in the Juniors), Maddie De Vera Bacchus Marsh Grammar (runner-up Junior). We wish them well when they go on to compete in Rotary District 9800 Grand Final at Melbourne Girls Grammar on 16 June.In the Short Notice part of the competition Senior Winner was Gracy Singh, Junior Winner Kiara Thomas from Emmanuel College Notre Dame Campus and an Encouragement Award was presented to Francis Bond, Williamstown High Pasco Campus. Congratulations to you all winners.

Rotary Caroline Springs are proud to have been a part of this Rotary Project in public speaking with Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing, Rotary Club of Altona City and Rotary Club of Bacchus Marsh. We encourage more schools to join and tap the talent of your students. We can learn so much from such young talents.

This event could not have taken place if not for the generous support of sponsors Shutter Tech Australia, Bendigo bank, Coogee Chemicals, West Gate Tunnel Project and to Toastmasters for providing adjudication.

Just so you know Rotary's volunteers and the schools made this happen.
