Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
The Rotary Club of Caroline Springs is a relatively new club but we are here as part of your community in Caroline Springs. If you have a project come and talk with us, better yet speak at one of our meetings to see how we can collaborate with one another to serve this community and together we can connect.

What a pleasure it was to have Dorothy speak at our last meeting. Dorothy provided us with the key insight into what Rotary Safe Families is all about and how it came to be. Mostly why it is so important for every Rotary Club to get on board and be a Champion and have an Ambassador. Rotary Safe Families doesn't just look at one person but considers everyone that maybe impacted and should be kept safe. It prevents family violence to children, women, men and the elderly and helps to promote family peace and harmony to save lives and avoid trauma.
In particular in that we all have a duty of care and responsibility to Recognise, Raise and Refer anyone that maybe impacted. These are the three R's on why every Rotarian and Rotary Club can help reduce family abuse.
Dorothy is a Rotarian, Co-Founder and Chair of the Rotary SAFE Families initiative. Promoting the "Stopping of Abuse in Families Everywhere" via Rotary, public organisations and community.
She is a former Professional and skilled in Social Sciences with vast experience in human behaviours and challenges of specialised groups. Specialised in the area of trauma, loss and grief. Advocate for social justice and fairness for those less fortunate. She has formerly lectured at Swinburne University and presents workshops to industry and community services in the area of Stress, Suicide Prevention, Loss & Grief and Trauma debriefing.
Dorothy had a former Private practice providing counselling support to community, individuals, couple counselling and families. She is a Mediator and Facilitative Counsellor in industry. Provider, Educator and trainer in trauma debriefing after Critical Incidents in workplace and community disasters. She is also former Provider of Career Transition Counselling and support to industry and private clients.
Dorothy is a Rotarian.

Opportunity to attend 'Writing Workshop' - 9th and 14th September
Some of you may have participated in the Writing Workshops that were held last year with journalist Jeanette Leigh. Well Jeanette has very kindly agreed to run them again. And those who did attend can vouch for their value!
We have two dates to choose from and both will start at 5:30pm via Zoom and go for two hours:
These workshops are for Rotary club Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champions or Rotarians who have an interest in creating change and ensuring their Rotary club is more inclusive and supportive of the community. New dates have been planned due to the recent lockdowns in Victoria.
Western Emergency Relief Network (WERN) has re-opened for business again (subject to current restrictions of course). QR Codes, sanitizer and wipes at the ready, WERN is up and about helping Australians in need again, albeit a 'Click and Collect’ basis at the moment reducing contact visits to WERN with a wonderful display of support from our ever-helpful Volunteers.
