Once again we gathered via zoom in lockdown. It was a good time to catch up with everyone and find out how everyone was doing and what Rotary sessions they attended. Jacob attended and spoke at the AG meeting on Rotarian Against Malaria (RAM) and how we needed to raise funds and awareness to fight Malaria and change lives for countries like Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands Vanuatu, West Timor and Timor Leste. Nivi spoke about Year 11 - 12 student scholarship grants and getting matching grants from the D9800. We spoke about how good Wynspeak was for teaching the students about public speaking. It is planned that we will continue with this program next year. We also need a new Wynspeak committee member as Nivi will be taking some time off.
Nilda attended the Club Service meeting hosted by Sandi Fulcher mentioned that 19 people attended from various clubs and that they would meet every 2 months. One of the topics that they discussed was holding Hybrid meetings.
Ronald spoke about the Writing workshop by Jeannette Leigh and how beneficial it was in developing strategies for effective story writing and the many right and wrong ways to tell a Rotary story. Sandi sent a video which he will share with the club. The Public image will meet once a month.
Ross gave a brief update on the progress of WERN's new premises along Westwood drive and all the work done by the volunteer to move to no 5 in Ravenhall. He thanked all volunteers for their good work in making the move possible.
Kathy and Ronald attended the Duplex cleaning webinar last week and enjoyed the presentation on the effectiveness of steam cleaning compared better to chemicals.
All in all it was good to hear from everyone and we continue to look forward to getting together in person again at Billy's Paddock.
