Are you an established professional who wants to make positive changes in your community and the world?

Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship. Becoming a Rotarian connects you with a diverse group who share your drive to give back.

Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

The Rotary Club of Caroline Springs is a relatively new club but we are here as part of your community in Caroline Springs. If you have a project come and talk with us, better yet speak at one of our meetings to see how we can collaborate with one another to serve this community and together we can connect.

You are invited to join us at an upcoming meeting held every Wednesday at Billy's Paddock. However we are holding next week's meeting via zoom due to the lockdown. Contact us to find out more at rotarycarolinesprings@gmail.com

Meeting 15 September

We did not have a speaker this week, so what did we get up to. Well we caught up with each other, just to see what we had been up to since the last meeting. Sometimes it just good to catch up and ask R U Ok. We would love to meet in person but for now this is not possible due to the lockdown in Victoria. It was really good to see each other and say hi. Thank goodness for technology.

    Elder abuse

Elder abuse, a form of family violence, is the mistreatment of an older person by someone with whom the older person has a relationship of trust.

This abuse can best be described as a controlling behaviour or action which frightens or intimidates its victims violating an older person’s basic right to feel safe. It may be physical, social, financial, psychological or sexual and can include mistreatment and neglect. Perpetrators of this kind of abuse can include a partner, family member, friend, carer or an older person experiencing cognitive decline who exhibits abusive behaviours toward an older carer or partner.

Sometimes family, friends and carers may not know that their actions amount to elder abuse.

Opportunity to attend 'Writing Workshop' - 20th and 22th September
Some of you may have participated in the Writing Workshops that were held last year with journalist Jeanette Leigh. Well Jeanette has very kindly agreed to run them again.

And those who did not attend I can vouch for its value! I joined the session on the 9th and learnt so much about what not to write and some Rotarian writing styles and meeting other Rotarians. Be quick, first in best dressed. Spots still available, see below.

We have two more dates to choose from and both will start at 5:30pm via Zoom and go for two hours:

International Day of Peace 21 September 2021

District 9800 is a Peacebuilder District and a leader in peace projects in Australia, so let’s celebrate the United Nation's International Day of  Peace on Tuesday 21st September

Let’s promote peace in our communities, in our clubs and in our hearts. Here are some ideas for you and your club to kick off peace celebrations.

Rotary International (RI) and the Melbourne Convention Host Organising Committee (HOC) are now seeking potential sponsors and exhibitors for the Rotary International Convention to be held in May 2023.

The HOC has been asked to submit a list of prospective sponsors and exhibitors to RI before the end of this calendar year. Formal approaches to sponsors will not be made until RI has approved the list. Rotary will develop a Rights & Benefits document, a promotional brochure, and a PowerPoint presentation to be shared with potential sponsors.
