On 6 March, combined with our Rotary meeting at WERN, we celebrated Women's Day to recognise all the women in Rotary Caroline Springs and everywhere. It was a special sharing with some of our members sharing a woman that haad made a difference.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organised by Rotary clubs and districts where you develop your skills as a leader while having fun, making lifelong friends and coming away empowered.
Each year Rotary Caroline Springs sponsors at least one candidate to attend the RYLA camp.
At our recent changeover evening, our recent candidate Priya Somabhatta shared the impact of attending RYLA had on her. We were also fortunate to hear from Alex Lapina (President of Rotary Activate) about his time at RYLA. Both expressed that the lessons learned, friendships made and personal growth achieved are invaluable life lessons.
Bookings now open for RLI April - Saturday 6, Sunday 21, and Saturday 27. Each session starting at 10am and goes for 1.5 hours.
Simply email Jane Pennington to reserve your spot before it books out. 😀
This course is perfect for Presidents-elect and any members who want to learn more about Rotary. We prefer to call this course the 'Rotary Learning Institute'.
It was a cool day to get out and about early on Sunday morning to assist on Clean Up Australia Day. With a cool 17 deg C the volunteers gathered to clean a small section of Caroline Springs. Thank you to all that could make it. It's our neighbourhood and everyone can do their part to dispose of waste correctly. I am happy to say that there was a lot less rubbish to collect.
We had another great joint meeting/working bee held at the WERN warehouse on Wednesday night with members of Rotary Caroline Springs and Phoenix Rover Crew (Caroline Springs).
Even with the weather reaching the day's highest temperature at 6.30pm, we went ahead and made good use of the 'cool spaces' to complete tasks.
One team was making up cutlery sets, using the donated cutlery that Ken D picked up from a local golf club, the second team were putting together crockery packs and the final team were putting together sheet sets.
RCS members, along with our AG Cheryl Nash (regular volunteer from Thursdays), steered the activities and all had a fun evening chatting and working alongside these young adults. Such a worthwhile club activity!

Rotary International 1.4 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
Rotary of Caroline Springs part of this amazing International community is a relatively new club but we are here as part of your community in Caroline Springs. If you have a project come and talk with us, better yet speak at one of our meetings to see how we can collaborate with one another to serve this community and together we can connect. We also need volunteers to help us run our program like BusfFeet and many more. Contact us to volunteer.
In May 2023 Rotarians from around the world gathered on this beautiful city of Melbourne at the Rotary International Convention 2023 (RICON). The next Convention will be in vibrant Singapore from May 25-29 2024. We are looking forward to welcoming all Rotarians from around the world.
Rotary SAFE Families and Changepreneurs are working together to address the priority for young women to enjoy respectful relationships whilst understanding the need for prevention of abuse in any form to women in our CALD communities in Australia.
The Changepreneurs group was established by Abiola Akinbiyi in 2020. The group consists of dynamic young women from migrant backgrounds looking to make impact within the Australian community.
In 2020 the Changepreneurs was created, aiming to empower youth and CALD women through mentorship, outreach, and education, with proven success stories from all mentees, from excellent ATAR to successful professional careers in health, finance, entrepreneurship, leadership, and community service.
These wonderful women positively impact the communities through their passion, skills, knowledge, and experience. Changepreneurs are in the business of making change. Less talk, more doing, positive impact, and giving back to community.
Rotary SAFE Families has had our Guide to Prevention of Family Abuse in Australia translated into 6 different languages so far. The latest release is a video on Rotary Safe Families Inclusive Communities Initiative - Swahili. Click on the photo to view the video.
